Kyiv Noir Continues With Another Russian Assassination Attempt

Kyiv Noir continues with another high profile Russian assassination attempt in Kyiv.

New York Times - Masquerading As Reporter, Assassin Hunted Putin Foes in Ukraine.

The story of the couple in the New York Times article is worthy of a movie.

As I wrote previously,

much of the headline violence in Ukraine starts with Russia’s subversion of Ukraine’s democratic reforms, including anti-corruption reforms--as well as with Russia's war in eastern Ukraine.  Violence and subversion are carried out against Ukraine by Russia because Putin views Ukraine as a threat.  Ukraine's democratic reforms are a threat to Putin because next door to Russia a fellow post-Soviet country is becoming a successful democratic alternative to Putin's oppressive rule. The headlines about violence don't tell the story of Ukraine's progress toward an open and democratic society.

What bothers Putin is that Ukraine’s reform process is succeeding.
